Reliable Publishers

Publishers whose work would make a good addition to the knowledge base include those that publish fluent work in English for the United States and Spanish for Latin America that is written by SMEs for other SMEs in the field. Reliable publishers may publish academic and trade journals, books, patents, etc. The works published by reliable publishers are collected under the name(s) of the author(s) of said work.

Reliability Ratings

The publishers whose work is included in the T&L Knowledge Base are rated for reliability based upon the language variant of their publications and the rigor of their QA processes. Definitions for reliability ratings levels are given below.

• ★★ – Publisher with verifiable QA processes (i.e. editing or peer review prior to publication) that publishes in English for the United States or Spanish for Latin America
• ★ – Publisher with verifiable QA processes (i.e. editing or peer review prior to publication) that publishes in another variant of English or Spanish
• No stars – A publisher included due to industry recognition despite unverifiable QA processes (i.e. publications that lack critical analysis, obviously do not undergo quality control, or in which the sources for the information published are unclear, etc.)

Important note!

Blogs associated with companies who are selling a related product, while often a good source of general information about the subject field, should NOT be included in the corpus, since blogs are a type of marketing designed to sell rather than to inform.
